Pouring

Fun painting technique where you literally pour paint

Pouring is an incredibly fun painting technique where you literally pour paint, usually on some kind of canvas. However, you can also do it on other materials such as wood, stone, porcelain, or furniture. The result is extremely cool and it's completely unpredictable how it will turn out in the end. The fun twist is that it's more or less impossible to fail in the initial stage, even for the cheerful beginner. The final result is super cool! Definitely addictive once you've started and tried it. Then, when you start experimenting with different techniques, that's where practice will be required.

About Pouring

Pouring goes by several names, such as acrylic pouring, which is due to the use of acrylic paints. However, to get acrylic paints to the right consistency, pouring medium is required. There are also pre-mixed paints available, and they are usually named something including acrylic pouring. It can also go by names like fluid painting, pouring art, fluid art, etc.

There are several different techniques behind this, and you can get stuck for hours watching tutorials online, which we recommend. Because there are endless different approaches. For example, pouring several colors into a cup and pouring it over a canvas. Or priming the canvas with one color and then pouring other colors on top. Using a hairdryer or different tools. Turning the canvas to make the paint flow in different directions or lie flat. Using silicone drops to create additional effects.

Pouring is truly a technique that can make anyone feel like a real artist with great results. It's relaxing, meditative, and fun. Each painting becomes completely unique, and you'll never be able to create exactly the same paintings, as chance plays a large role in this.

We recommend that you initially try pre-mixed paints to get a feel for the proper consistency of the paint. The only thing that can really go wrong with this is if the paint doesn't flow as intended.

In our range, you'll find a complete kit containing a canvas, paints, and silicone drops. We also have a kit with only paints, and canvas panels can be purchased separately. A tip is to start experimenting on small canvases. There's a risk you'll want to make many paintings and try lots of different things, and it uses up large quantities of paint.

When we tested for the first time. 😅
